back to reality after days of eating and celebrating...my daughter's birthday and mine comes two days apart, and most years thanksgiving falls very close, so it seems like we are eating for days! here we all are for my birthday, my daughter's took me out to an indian restaurant that is very close to our house. they have this cool 'authentic indian tent' that they reserved for us to have our dinner in. it was very pretty and cozy. we feasted on spicy samosas, chicken tikka masala and paneer naan, with yummy warm spiced chai tea!

so, getting back to sewing today, i felt like i had not sewn anything for weeks! i am working on some hip scarves for my friend that owns the place where i take the belly dance classes. her store is ottoman trading company in country village, near where i live. her store is so cool, it has lots of beautiful things, and she is one of the nicest people that i know! the store is in such a cute setting, all the pretty little shops, with chickens and a duck pond. and it is lit so beautifully for the holidays! i love going christmas shopping there, there are always lots of interesting things that you cannot find at the mall!

Hi! I'm so glad you visited my blog... I am so envious of anyone that can sew as well as you - I can do a straight line and that's about it... I do like to bead though. Your family is really beautiful :0) My boys are also grown (23 and 27) and I am fortunate to be able to devote much of my time to art projects. I love the jacket that you embellished... I have a black linen one that I have been meaning to decorate for a long time. Maybe yours will inspire me! Hope you will visit again... is it ok if I link your blog on mine? Have a great week ahead - Deb

I didn't realize you lived so close (I was thinking more downtown). I taught at Country Village - (at Arts Umbrella) this last year - until I got this big commission, and now never get to leave my house!

I haven't been in that particular store - but will have to check it out if I ever get out there again. :-) (My current fav store there is O'Malley's and Potter. Tea, oils, chocolate, salt - such yummy stuff!)

Ok - will send some easy veg dishes this weekend. Just check out and if any ingredient is missing...I can always help out in giving you another substitute.

Like - I had to check the alternate meaning of Garbanzos (chickpea) -was this dish served with fried Naan - We call this "Chole Bhature'"
In India this is breakfast cum lunch snack.
