hip scarves for the holiday tribal bazaar! here was my project for today...i took these beautiful textiles from turkey and made them into various hip scarves for my friend dena, for her to put in her store, ottoman trading company. before i cut them up, i had to take some photos, they are so interesting to me. on the backs of some, you can see the stitchwork, and some of them had patchwork covering the backs.

this one was so fabulously stitched in tiny chain stitch on a black background with these beautiful bright colors.

here is how they turned out after they were sewed up... pardon my glare, the photos were taken in the mirror!

they did have really pretty colors... and the threads were really nice texture. i am wondering what/who is 'suzani'? is it a person, or a particular style?
