well...after a rather bad weekend, i did not feel worthy to post anything positive! so, now, i am back, and ready with a better attitude, and pretty stuff to see! skipping past the bad, (just boring drama!) things started looking up at the end of sunday. i went to country village, and took a veils workshop at my friend dena's dance studio. the workshop was given by the dancer shamandura, and it was a lot of fun! it was really pretty too, seeing all the beautiful, colorful veils in various colors of silks, flying around the studio, while we did the different turns and moves to the music. when it was all done, i was happy, and dizzy, and tired!

exciting news for dena, though...the ottoman trading company is moving to a new location! it is moving right next to where the dance classes are. i have been helping to carry boxes and bags, and all the beautiful things that fill her lovely shop. i am finding a lot of things to buy that i didn't know were there, too! i brought home some of my things that i had sewed, and were in there on consignment...

here is a pile of harem pants in a rainbow of colors...

and here are a couple of veils, and a tribal belt i made. i came home after the veils workshop, and was playing with the veils a little... i think the shimmery one is a little stiff, maybe after washing it will flow better. but the grey one with paillettes is silk, and it is just too fun...i may have to keep it! i am thinking i will open an etsy shop and put these things in it. i also have other ideas for things, and it would be a place to put them as well.

i am going to go tomorrow as well, and help put things back together at the new location of the ottoman trading company...i will try to take some photos of some of the treasures that are there... maybe some 'before' and 'after' shots!

I really think you should put that on Etsy - your work is wonderful! I'm sure many people will be interested. Belly (and arabian) dances are becoming really popular in the Canary Islands too -as we're only 17 kilometres away from the west coast of Africa, many arabic inmigrants come to try and make a life here. I saw a turkish belly dancer two weeks ago at a turkish restaurant's show and it was like seeing a Goddess dancing! Amazing....
