today seems like yesterday was so far away... the sun is out this morning and it is actually very pretty out! yesterday it was quite nasty out and i hav to go out in it. i went to madina's to pick up a dress like this one...
to do the bead work on it just like this... i did this one a long time ago. this was actually the very first wedding dress i sewed completely by myself. someone ordered another dress the same, so that is what i will be doing all day today, sewing beads on the little ruffles!
yesterday, while it was really stormy out, i guess in other places in the area, it was really bad. my mom had surgery day before yesterday, and she went home yesterday, and the power was out on the entire whidbey island. how rotten is that to come home to after a hospital stay! i guess there was quite a bit of destruction from fallen trees and power poles about as well. we are almost always out of power when there is a storm, but miraculously, we did not yesterday! i had the candles out at the ready too! maybe that was why...i put a 'mojo' on the power, so it stayed on! ha, ha!
they had these pretty flowers in the shop, and i had to take a photo of them... i love the colors together. the little cabbages in together with the peonies are so sweet! thay had another smaller bouquet that was similar, and the cabbages had a bit of pink tinge in the leaves, so they looked even better together. this wrap that is surrounding it is so pretty, too. it is a creamy, gauzy silk with little sparkles all over...it is marked down too! i may have to buy it, if no one else does! it is by madina vadache and it is at voletta couture, just in case you want to save me from myself, and buy it first! both of these places are who i do the sewing that i do for.
