i have a new favorite store! today i went out with my hubby to get something to eat and we ended up in bellevue. i had been wanting to go look at this store for some time, it is supposed to be a favorite of salma hayak, and she was reported to have gone there around christmas time when she was in our area. i kept seeing it from the outside but only when we were on our way somewhere else! so, today i had my chance...it is just beautiful! jz rose! it is so amazingly, beautifully over the top and sparkly. they had badgley mischka dresses, and beautiful dolls, and antiques, lovely china and glass, and there were beautiful beaded things everywhere! and not much of anything i could afford! i did end up buying a dean martin cd...no jokes please, i like dean martin, especially with jerry lewis! (o.k., that would maybe be another one of those 'weird things about me' things!) i put the link to the website, but it is not anything like the store experience! i so totally loved this place! i will end up taking trips to this store just to be inspired, or to feel good on a bad day.
while we were there, i saw many pillows, and there was one that was very much like this project that i have been working on for quite some time now. i actually bought it at a thrift store, and the flowers had already been worked, it just needed the background to be put in. so, i chose the wine color yarn for the background, and have been working on it off and on. this hand work KILLS my hand, so for this reason i have taken forever to get it done. i am going to try to finish it nights while watching t.v., so i can make a pillow like the one in jz rose!

Um, I love the needlepoint roses. Too bad it wasn't the other way around and they'd done all the background.
My fav x-mas cd is the Dean Martin one!
oldround-thanks, and i'm glad i'm not the only closet dino fan! my mom listened to him a lot, i think. one of my favorite old scary movies is called 'scared stiff' with martin and lewis.
ahhh, i melt every time! LOL!
tara-the jz rose is in the big space that borders bookstore used to occupy...three stories of beauty! (only two, for three more weeks apparently!)
