"nothing is certain except death and taxes"...not sure who said this famous quote, (maybe mark twain? he said a lot of smart stuff!) but they were right, i guess. my hubby is in the middle of getting all the papers and numbers organized for the guy to do our taxes, and he has decided to include my 'business' earnings and expenses. what his means, is i have to provide him with numbers...oh dear God! yeah, another one of those weird things about me...i DON'T DO NUMBERS! i blame it on the 'new math' that they tried out in the 60's. that was what totally messed up my head for numbers! o.k., back to the taxes thing...i bought this beauty for doing my sewing for madina's dresses. it is an industrial machine, that has lots of power, and makes beautiful, perfect stitches like the ones on clothes you buy.
and i also bought a serger, but not industrial, just one on sale at joann fabric store! anyway, i can apparently take them as deductions for business expenses, and also my mileage from deliver and pick up of the dresses. so my morning was numbers and papers...and when it comes to keeping records, well....there, i am apparently, a crack head! i had reciepts from leather jackets and lipsticks i bought in 2004, but the reciept for this? fuggetaboutit! i finally went on-line and found the stupid transaction on my bank records! i must have my dear daddy's filing system for important papers...stick in a drawer till the drawer is full, then stick them somewhere else so you can stuff in the more recent ones! that's ok, i have some of my dad's really great points too! i finally came up with most of the numbers my DH needs for the tax guy...as for my earnings, that was too depressing, but at least we get to take some good deductions on the losses! is it too early for a margarita?!

May be you need Bloody Mary....:-)
(I'm having to pay *a bunch* of taxes this year. I guess it's better to earn more than you expense, but the paying it out to the IRS is not the funnest part of it)...
