i finally made an appointment to see my doc about the chronic pain in my right hand...it has been pretty bad this past week. so now, i have a nice 'scrip for vicodin, and a referral to a specialist to give me cortisone injections...and maybe a surgery down the road, but that will take me out of commission for two months, so it will have to wait for bridal season to slow a bit. who knows, it might be nice to take a two month break! but, it also means that i cannot do the fun stuff that i want to do if i had the time, because it would also be sewing stuff! (that's something my husband asks me when he gets home..."are you working or playing?" can't tell the difference!) well, i guess i'll get lots of my reading done! and watch a lot of movies!

I'm so sorry about your hand. I deal with chronic pain in my arm all the time too. I don't know if it is the computer or the sewing machine that causes it. It might be that I am rapidly approaching 50. Take care of yourself. I hope you don't have to have surgery. But, maybe a "vacation" would be nice. LOL

Aw... I hope you don't need surgery, it's not pleasant. But yeah, at least you have the mandated time off.

Ouch! Hand pain and possible surgery! That's one of my biggest fears. I don't know how to do anything but art. Because of a sprain, I had to switch hands and work with my left for a little while but that slowed me down quite a bit.

Good luck with your hand. I hope you heal nicely and we see more of your work soon.

PS: Coconut cake is my favorite too.

Oh egads! No surgery...maybe the shots and some physical therapy would help!

I had an epideral(sp) in my spine last year and it has lasted almost an entire year of being pain free! So good hopes!

ee ~ yeah, the thought of surgery sounds awful, but it is that laproscopic type that is not very invasive, so maybe won't be so bad. i'm already ready to take time off! but it may have to wait till the end of summer...too much work!

tom kidd ~ thanks for looking in! i'm impressed that you can switch hands, and draw the way you do! your art is incredible, really.

gypsy ~ i am hoping for the cortisone shots to help, even though i hate, hate, HATE shots! i'm glad that it worked for you! pain-free is GOOD!
