in one of my recent previous posts, i mentioned that i can usually get the dresses back together? well, here is one that i just finished that i was having some SERIOUS doubts that i would get it to go back together! i stopped several times just short of tears of frustration, and in the end, and 8 hours of labor in it, FINALLY it was done! below is a detail of a bit of the train. sorry for the poor quality of the shots, i resorted back to the use of my cell phone for this post! i borrow my daughter's digital camera for this blog stuff, and she used it this weekend. (how dare she borrow back her own camera!) ha, ha! anyway, the reason was that she and her sweetie went to the prom together at my hubby's high school! they both missed their high school prom, so my husband asked her if they wanted to '21 jump street' for him...they did the chaperone thing, but they were kind of young enough that the kids just thought they were other kids at the prom!

shn ~ i only had to replace beadwork on the sides of the zipper, thank goodness! but it is hard on the eyes, and my hand!

Yikes! that looks difficult. I hate sewing anything with zippers. I panic every time I have to make something with a zipper. You are a braver woman than me. LOL

betty ~ it is a little more difficult when there is an embellishment like the beaded bands because the beadwork has to be removed and the bands have to line up when you put the zipper in AND then, the beads replaced! but when i started working for madina she showed me an easy way to put in an invisible zipper and after a couple hundred (at least!) it is pretty much routine now!

a little light ~ hi! thanks for the visit and the complimentary comment!

You are a brave and hardworking soul! :-) The dresses you post are always beautiful and a bit awe-inspiring.

Got to watch the final Idol performances last night. I'm afraid Blake is going to be toast - save for a fluke in the voting. He's been very fun to watch though. (My daughter has friends whose older siblings know him as well. Kinda fun - in a vicarious sort of way).

thanks tara! yes, it has been fun watching, as i don't ususally watch it, my girls always do though. but even if blake doesn't win, the seattle times had a good point today...he will still be a 'winner' as he will still probably get something really good for his american idol experience. good for him! (i agree though, i think he's probably is 'toast'!)
