gallery openings

i have a lovely friend that is a painter, vaho muskheli, and he had a gallery opening on friday that i went to. as usual, the paintings were very beautiful, and it was great to see him again, as i don't get to see him very often anymore. he is actually the one who got me the job that i have now, sewing bridalwear for madina vadache. he knows madina, and just picked up the phone and got me 'the hook up'. at the time, it was my dream job, so to say i was grateful, seems a ridiculous understatement! coincidentally, madina also had a gallery opening of her new first line of ready-to-wear. the photos at left are a some of the new things. so wasn't i quite the social butterfly last week, flitting from gallery opening to gallery opening!

at vaho's gallery opening, here are some of the paintings that are in the gallery now, but in real life they are even much more beautiful. the colors seem to glow on the canvas, and i love being in the gallery surrounded by them. he also does some beautiful charcoal drawings, too which were also in the exhibition. i love this medium, it was one of my favorites when i used to draw. there is such depth in vaho's drawings...they are just gorgeous. me and my daughter bought lotto tickets last night...92 million, i think! if we win it, i'm gonna buy all these paintings! oh yeah, and a big enough house to put them in! (and another mustang...maybe a shelby! do they come in pink?)

oh! Those paintings are haunting. Beautiful Work. And inquiring minds want to know: do you sew those beautiful bridal gowns at Madina Vadache's site? Is that you in the gallery picture?

betty ~ aren't they amazing? unfortunately we did not win the 92 million! ;}

i did not sew the ones in the gallery photos, but some of the ones on the website i did. the very first one that comes up on the site, that lacy one, i sewed that one. most of the bridesmaids dresses i did, (that is my area mostly for madina, the bridesmaids dresses) and in the newest bridal line, i did sew a few of those.

betty ~ i forgot...thank you, but no, that is not me! that is another girl that works for madina that modeled the outfit for the opening. i don't fit into any of the samples! (they make them a size 4!)

They are neat paintings! Love the boldness, the vivid colour contrasts, and the strong outlines!

Plus, I love that white feathery skirt / dress / top outfit of Madina's! Now that would be something I would actually wear! It is beautiful; or I think it is! Just LOVE it! Hmmmmmmmm.. hmmmmm.
These dresses are spectacular! Okay Cindy,tell the truth,you play dress up in them when your working on them! ...cause believe me,my girlfriends and I would be having digital picture parties!

gina ~ aren't they fabulous!? the feathery one was interesting to sew...we had to keep changing directions to make it work! in the end it came out though!

jungle dream pagoda ~ LOL! i might, if they were not always three or four sizes too small for me! the samples are sewed in a size 4 or 6, and i haven't seen that size on my body in quite a while!
