i have been working so much lately, trying to play 'catch up' and setting more stressed. i finished several things that needed to get done and went to deliver stuff on tuesday...that day turned into one thing after another...bad, bad day! then on wednesday, things started off very nicely...i got a parcel in the mail from a swap i did with betty at she's sew pretty! i got all this! a beautiful embroidered linen runner and these sweet cards...
and this lovely sheer vintage apron made of a vintage hankie (kind of hard to see...yesterday was positively dreary here! this was with a flash and all the lights on!)
and these fabulous cocktail napkins, and the mexican dish towels made me absolutely walk on air!
but that wasn't all! there was this pretty rose motif hankie, and these lovely little roses that betty makes, along with a little lacy pincushion that she also made! all nestled in a little package on this beautiful lilac-colored rose plate. everything came wrapped up in pink tissue paper...you know how i feel about pink! (swooning!) all the rest of the rotten week melted away! thanks so much betty! (i know, i said it a lot already...but it's really great!)
then later, i got a parcel from the DHL guy...i had been waiting for this one a while now...was starting to wonder what happened to it! a lovely pink jingly hip scarf i bought off e-bay! i'll be wearing that tonight at bellydance class! o.k...speaking of bellydance, i have cholis cut out downstairs, that are calling to me to come sew them! do you hear them too?!

I'm so glad you liked everything and I of course, love that jiggly hip scarf. I need to take up belly dancing. I've heard it is better exercise than sitting in front of this computer. LOL

Terrific packages! That always makes the day better. As much as me and my garden are appreciating the rain, it is getting a little depressing out there.

And yes, the used book store I was referring to was that Kenmore one. Drat! They had a really good selection and were very well organized... The other couple of ones I know in the area (Bothell and Woodinville) pale in comparison. Do you have a good one that you like?

tara ~ so far, today we have sun! gotta get out into it! i like third place books in lake forest park, and there is the half price books in redmond that i go to also. i get lots of my books from thrift shops, yard sales, and online at half.com. although from there, the shipping is most times more than the book costs!

Love the coin belt! Looks like it came from "Miss Bellydance", or maybe "Turkish Corner", am I right? LOL! (Can u tell I order my belts from Ebay too???)

I love the jinglys too, but I gotta tell ya, I mostly recommend tassel belts to my newcomers, as the noise is incredibly distracting. The new girls are always the ones in the corner just jiggling around so they can hear themselves, and won't pay attention, LOL! ;)

Yeah - I use all those sources (and Third Place Books is probably my all time favorite independant book seller) - but none of them really compare with a *good* used-book store... alas...
