i took down my christmas tree, and tucked away all the pretty, sparkly things away for another year...makes me sad. the space looks lonely, and the living room looks very boring.

I've got to do all of my "putting away" this weekend. I'm really not looking forward to it. Not only is it going to be a chore, but I'm gonna miss everything when it's gone. : (

Thanks for your beautiful comment on my doll my friend!!! As you can see I'm saving the fabrics you sent me for the best stuff I can make :) - and yes, my living room looks boring too!

I agree, after the Christmas decorations come down my house feels kind of empty. I wonder why your peppermint bark came apart at the layers! I didn't have that problem. Maybe because my bottom layer started to melt into the top layer when I was spreading it on.

One of those funny internet blog pieces was circulating recently, and it said we're cranky in January as we try to lose that holiday weight. Celery sticks, dark weather, and no little twinkly lights! Who WOULDN'T be sad?

I got some curly willow at a farmer's market. It reaches to the ceiling and I put it in a terra cotta pot with rocks in it. Now I have strings of twinkly lights and will spend a rainy evening wrapping them around the branches. Ha! I laugh in the face of winter!

I have an idea! Take all your pretty sari fabric and peacock feathers and set up shop in the living room!
